Climate Control HVAC Project Engr, Automotive Supplier Tier 1:An outstanding career opportunity exists with a World Class Automotive Supplier near Fort Worth, Texas (TX) a Top Ten Winner of Money Magazine's 2008 "Best Places to Live". The position is titled Automotive Project Engineer, HVAC Climate Control, and the individual will have Project Design through Manufacturing responsibility for the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning systems of a Vehicle or Vehicle platform. In this capacity the Automotive HVAC / Climate Control Project Engineer will develop and manage Engineering Projects for the application of Automotive HVAC and Powertrain Cooling Systems and Components in support of current and new business activity and will have the opportunity for the actual "cradle to grave" implementation of these projects to the production floor. Responsibilities also include:-Provide technical support and guidance for both current and new program activity and has project responsibility for the design through manufacture of the system and/or components to ensure the system and/or components are both appropriately manufactured and that the system and/or components performance meets the project in-vehicle performance criteria. -Team with Platform groups within the Automotive or Vehicle OEM Client's Vehicle Centers to ensure the HVAC / Climate Control system and/or components meet the vehicle package, durability requirements, quality standards, manufacturing requirements, timing, and cost requirements and will document vehicle system, component, and manufacturing requirements, and communicate to all areas of the Organization. -Develop and perform current and future product design and manufacturing analysis and identify opportunities for product and manufacturing cost reduction, as well as, team with test and development engineering, suppliers, and management to ensure the system works in harmony with the vehicle to meet the defined project objectives to ensure a successful on time program launch.-Further responsible for appropriate Tooling Design, Machinery, and Manufacturing Engineering Support for the implementation of HVAC / Climate Control projects to the production floor.The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of a BS Degree in an Engineering discipline, Mechanical or Manufacturing is preferred, Advanced Degree helpful. Requirements also include:-Both Manufacturing Engineering Professionals with some Product Engineering experience, or Product Engineering Professionals with some Manufacturing Engineering experience, will be considered (Commercial HVAC experience will also be considered).-Strong heat exchanger knowledge, design through manufacture, highly desired. -Five or more years of project experience in the design, testing, and manufacture of HVAC / Climate Control and/or Powertrain cooling systems and components. -Experience with FMEA, GD&T, DVP&R, QS9000 / TS16949, DFM, and Lean Manufacturing a plus.-Effective written and oral communication skills are necessary, along with a passion for product and manufacturing excellence.
