Industrial Engr, Automotive Supplier Tier 1:An outstanding career opportunity exists with a World-Class Automotive Supplier's Manufacturing Operations near Shelbyville, Indiana, a desirable locale southeast of Indianapolis, Indiana. This permanent position is titled Automotive Industrial Manufacturing Engineer, and the individual will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of automotive components and systems in a lean manufacturing environment. Although the Corporation's automotive component product line is technologically sophisticated, Industrial Engineering Professionals with strong automotive components experience, regardless of component type, are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities:-Responsible for Classic Industrial Engineering functions such as, time studies, production line layout, development of standards for productivity by product line, identification and implementation of Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Production System or variants).-Responsible for process improvements and new product introduction coordination involving program timing, cost, and capital expenditure targets. -Responsible for Project Management of new processes which may include the development of project timing, savings calculation and justification, appropriation requests, and project communication with management. -Responsible for new product introduction and the development of manufacturing and sourcing strategies, preparation / review of capital spending, reduction of product cost, and new technology process improvement.-Engineering interface with product planning, engineering, operations, and purchasing to ensure Corporate and Program Goals are met. -Knowledge of "Benchmarking" helpful. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE -Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering required. -Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma certification helpful. -Effective written and oral communication skills are necessary, along with a passion for manufacturing excellence.
