Manufacturing Engr, Automotive Tier One:An outstanding career opportunity exists with an expanding Tier One Automotive Supplier located near Columbus, Indiana a desirable locale south of Indianapolis, Indiana. This permanent position is titled Automotive Manufacturing Engineer and the individual will be involved in the manufacture and assembly of automotive components and systems in a Lean Production / Manufacturing environment. Although the Corporation's automotive component product line is technologically sophisticated, Automotive Manufacturing Engineering Professionals with solid automotive components manufacturing experience, regardless of component type, are encouraged to apply.Primary Responsibilities:-Conduct cost reduction initiatives and support daily production using Lean Production / Manufacturing methodologies. -Coordinate and maintain process flow.-Assess and advise as to solutions for production and manufacturing issues and concerns.-Equipment upgrades and improvements.-Coordinate improvement projects.-Conduct Lean Production / Manufacturing training.-Cost Reduction / Six Sigma activities.-Project Leadership on improvement activities.Education and Training:-Bachelors Degree in a technical field (i.e. mechanical, manufacturing, operations, industrial engineering, etc.) is required. -Knowledge of QS9000 / TS-16949.-Previous Automotive experience with three plus years experience in a manufacturing environment is required.-Implementation experience in lean manufacturing.-Six Sigma certification desirable but not required.-Competent computer skills with excellent oral / written communication skills.This position is located near Columbus, Indiana a desirable locale south of Indianapolis, Indiana, can involve travel, and is highly desirable for professional development, with growth opportunities.Professional Human Development (PHD) is a respected recruiting firm that assists major corporations in the staffing of their employment openings.
