Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting company and customer quality efforts. This person will be applying total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within the organization. Responsibilities: - Initiating, participating and driving root cause analysis and corrective action.
- Document, evaluate and Investigate customer complaints and warranty returns.
- Develops, revises, and initiates procedures, work instructions, and methods for inspection, testing.
- Develop quality plans, inspection processes and sampling procedures.
- Interface with both internal and external customers.
- Performing Test and First Article inspection as required.
- Assist with data collection, maintenance of Metrics and Cost of Quality activities.
- Assist with the monitoring of supplier performance, to include the maintenance of our approved supplier list.
- Gathering and Analyzing DPPM data for yield analysis.
- Ensuring all products are manufactured in compliance with customer requirements/design specifications
- Analysis of data and process specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy for finished product.
- Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of finished products and in-process materials, and recommends corrective actions when necessary.
- Assists workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (engineering, mathematics) from a four-year college or university.
- 3 -4 years related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), preferred.
- Experience working with ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems Requirements. ISO auditing experience is a plus.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six experiences desirable.
- Experience in the use of root cause analysis tools.
- Able to read and understand mechanical drawings using ASME Y14.5.
- Background in sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
- Must be a team player, someone who has the ability to learn and train, and interact on multi-departmental projects.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment managing multiple priorities.
- Computer skills including all Microsoft products (Word, Excel, and Access) are necessary.
- Bilingual English/Spanish desired.
