The position is responsible for the development of production schedules for Manufacturing and Procurement and the assembly of products to meet customer delivery dates and/or inventory levels that meet corporate goals.  This position reports to the Materials Manager.  

Responsibilities:  

  • Plan, schedule, coordinate and/or monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle. 
  • May determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules while coordinating the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering. 
  • May work with Engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements while coordinating production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedule. 
  • Reviews and corrects bills of material and routings as necessary.
  • Monitors and maintains order parameters in MRP.
  • Schedules and/or interfaces with marketing, sales, production and engineering managers. 
  • Works to resolve (in case of design changes) labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. 
  • Monitor Production Schedules, Raw Material, WIP and Finished Goods for financial tracking purposes and in support of company goals.
  • Oversee secondary level scheduling and material procurement activities to ensure financial control policy adherence.

Requirements: 

  • 7 + years of progressive experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Business, or Production Management preferred.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of theories of MRP, JIT, Kanban and Lean Manufacturing.
