Saint James United Methodist Church Summer Camp Leader I Job Posting Essential Job Functions Duties may include, but are not limited to, working with a group of children (ages 6-12), planning and implementing Christian and educational projects; daily instruction and behavior management; planning and organizing special events; assisting the Summer Camp Director with development of a comprehensive program of recreational activities; supervising the planning and daily instruction of games, sports, crafts for children. Implement lesson plans per set curriculum and other daily or weekly reports. Ensure safety, discipline, and communicate with parents Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Candidates must possess maturity of judgment, creative mind to implement non-traditional teaching methods, proven leadership ability, and experience in teaching/leading arts and crafts, drama, and/or recreational activities. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, run, bend, stoop, and squat frequently. Ability to communicate effectively using speaking, hearing, writing and vision skills. Minimum Requirements: EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Candidates must have a minimum of four years of college and three seasons of experience working directly with youth. LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS: Valid CPR and First-Aid certifications preferred. Valid Driver’s License a must. Spanish fluency a plus.
