Community Birth & Family Center seeks an Executive Director to lead this respected and growing non-profit organization in Seattle, Washington. The mission of Community Birth & Family Center (CB&FC) is to provide comprehensive care to a diverse group of women and families through pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood, in an environment that is physically and emotionally safe. We believe that educating, nurturing and supporting parents during this critical period will help them to care for their children in a way that creates kind and gentle citizens and strengthens our community. CB&FC is in the process of creating a facility that accommodates the three major services provided by the CB&FC: a birth facility for low-risk women, classes and support for families in their childbearing years, and proximal access to complementary resources such as midwifery care, lactation support, mental health care, well-baby and well-woman care. As Executive Director, you will work closely with the Board of Directors to raise funds to complete the facility building project and expand and strengthen our programs. The Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a capital campaign, and solidifying the current network of donors and expanding their support. The successful candidate is a leader with a proven track record in fundraising who possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to quickly develop relationships with potential donors. This person must be results oriented while maintaining an approach consistent with the integrity of the organization. Essential responsibilities and qualifications include: Lead and work with the Development Committee to develop and implement short and long term strategic fundraising plans. Be successful with and enthusiastic about fundraising, including building effective and collaborative relationships with donors. Oversee the financial status of the CB&FC through strategic planning, projecting financial figures and recommending an annual budget for Board approval. Establish an effective system for maintaining donor history, communication, and recognition. Manage the ongoing daily operations of CB&FC. Increase community awareness of the work and mission of the CB&FC. Demonstrated experience managing the fiscal and administrative operations of a non-profit organization. Ability to work productively with a Board of Directors, and supervise and develop staff. Ability to effectively communicate with and develop relationships with practitioners and other community members who are directly related to the work of CB&FC. Lead and work with the Board of Directors on strategic planning as it pertains to development of the new facility, sustainability of existing programs and development of new programs that enhance viability of CB&FC.
