Temp Accounting position at the Institute for Systems Biology - full time, 3-5 weeks, great location, good pay, easy parking! Prepare monthly reconciliations of all bank checking and savings accounts from Dec 2006 to present. Reconciliations will be prepared using standard formats and use transaction information supplied from accounting systems and bank. Journal entries will be prepared for items not on the books that should be. Set up schedule of all equipment leases and analyze to determine whether each lease is capital /operating lease based on GAAP. Review lease contracts and buyout transactions to determine proper close-outs of terminated leases. Set up lease amortization schedules for all current capital leases. Compare and analyze lease transactions ‘as booked’ to ‘should have been’ and calculate any adjusting journal entries needed to correct lease accounting [Dec 2006 to present]. BS Accounting, experience with bank reconciliations and lease accounting, Excel and Word proficiency plus ability to work with report files in *.csv or *.txt formats. Experience with Sungard Bi-Tech IFAS accounting systems preferred but not required.
