Decatur Professional Development (DPD), based in Houston, TX, is looking for qualified engineers to provide continuing education seminars online. RELOCATION IS NOT REQUIRED. You will deliver your PowerPoint presentation live to professional engineers across the country from the comfort of your own office. Webinar participants will be able to see and hear your presentation live via the internet and a phone connection. This is an interactive format where students can ask questions and interact with you and with each other over the open webinar connection. Work hours are flexible. We will coordinate webinars around your schedule. Webinars are typically scheduled Monday thru Friday during normal business hours. They can be as short as 1 hour during lunch or span multiple days. The typical webinar is 3 hours in length. ________________________________________ Skills/Experience: • Must be highly knowledgeable and experienced in the webinar topic being presented • Must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited university and a minimum of 7 years experience practicing as an engineer post-graduation (Licensed Professional Engineers are strongly preferred) • Must be a dynamic public speaker with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate with webinar participants in English • Must have access to a computer, phone and a high-speed internet connection, as well as the software required to deliver the presentation (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) ________________________________________ Employment Terms: • You will provide the webinar content and your services part-time to DPD as an independent consultant • There are no employment benefits associated with this position. • There is no pre-determined work schedule associated with this position. Webinar schedule frequency will be as mutually agreed upon based on your schedule constraints and the appeal of the webinar topic. • You will be paid $150 for each hour of webinar instruction time. ________________________________________ Webinar Topics: Subject matter experts with knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas are being sought to instruct webinars immediately: • Engineering Ethics • Concrete • Geotechnical Engineering • Stormwater • Piping and Valve Design and Selection • Energy Conservation • Forensic Engineering and Failure Appraisement • Renewable Energy • Fire Protection • Building Systems Design (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) • Sustainable Design DPD is also looking for qualified individuals with a background in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Control Systems, Structural, Environmental, Industrial, Forensics or Materials Engineering to instruct webinars covering other topics.
