Educational Services of America, a national education company, is seeking Independent Living Skills Instructors for its College Living Experience program in Austin, Texas. The College Living Experience is a comprehensive academic, independent living and social skills program designed to provide students with learning differences the help they need to complete college or vocational school, and to become independent, responsible adults. Diagnoses range from Attention Deficit Disorder to Asperger’s Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorders to Nonverbal Learning Disabilities. Learn more at http://www.cleinc.net. The ILS Instructor is responsible for providing instruction to students in the student’s apartments and reporting on conditions and skill levels. The primary areas of instruction and reporting are: 1. Household organization. 2. Basic cooking skills. 3. Basic cleaning and laundry skills. 4. Personal organization. 5. Safety. Salary is $15 per hour. This is a part-time position without benefits. Hours are negotiable. Currently, we would prefer an instructor to work approximately 20 hours a week. We are open regular business hours Monday- Friday. No weekend or evening work is available. The ideal candidate will have a college degree in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, special education, or similar field. Excellent organizational and creative problem solving skills are essential.
