Edutronix, a reseller of product development tools such as Z Corporation's 3D Printers, 3D Scanners, Rapidform, Solidworks and other products has an immediate need for an Mechanical Engineer in their Troy, MI office. Details are as follows: JOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineer LOCATION: Troy, MI DESCRIPTION: As a mechanical engineer you will be directly involved in all aspects of Edutronix’s Engineering Services Group that includes rapid prototyping services, product design, 3D scanning, reverse engineering and 3D inspection services. Responsibilities include analyzing, quoting, promoting and performing activities such as rapid prototyping, 3D Scanning, product design and more. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years or more secondary schooling towards Mechanical Engineering degree or 4 years or more industry specific experience. EDUCATION: BS Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering a plus REQUIREMENTS: • Good knowledge of the MCAD, rapid prototyping and 3D Scanning industries. • Proven strong verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent customer relations skills. • 3D CAD solid/surface modeling experience and actual design work experience. • This position will require minimal travel, mostly in Southeastern Michigan. • Proven problem solver and self-motivated. • Must be a US citizen. TECHNICAL SKILLS: • Requires in-depth experience with Windows and 3D MCAD solid modeling software. • Strong familiarity with Microsoft O/S (Win2000, WinNT, WinXP Pro), MS/Office products and related hardware and networking devices • Any experience with other applications (CAM, PDM, animation, reverse engineering) is a plus. • Excellent analytical and technical troubleshooting skills. INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE: • Mechanical design experience with emphasis on product design, manufacturing and prototyping. • Understands engineering, mechanical design, manufacturing and rapid prototype processes and terminology • Understands 3D Solids Modeling processes and techno-speak • Experience or working knowledge with any of the following: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro/Engineer, Unigraphics, CATIA, Rhino, Rapidform, GeoMagic or other 3D CAD software packages required. • Experience with 3ds Max, Maya or other animation products a plus • Experience with 3D Scanners and related software (Rapidform or GeoMagic preferred)a plus • Industrial or tooling design required PRESENTATION SKILLS: • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers in person and on phone. • Superb interpersonal skills and team player mentality. • Presents a professional image and comes across as a confident and credible speaker. • Communicates well – Speaks clearly and concisely. Not afraid to be in front of large audience. • Excellent time management, written communication and organizational skills.
