Troubleshoot ATE problems. MicroE Systems, Natick, MA (Contract-Footbridge Engineering/Perm)………11/06 to 5/07Test Engineer, Component Manager - Test Fixture Printed Circuit Board design with OrCad, using Surface Mounted Technology for laser testing.
- Writing test procedures using LABVIEW for new optical encoder product development, testing VCSEL inferred lasers. (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser).
- Designed fixture hardware using AutoCAD 2007 for verification of new components.
DRS– Codem Systems, Merrimack, NH (Contract-A&A Search)……………....11/05 to 5/06 Test Engineer · System software verification and regression testing to insure product uniformity. Writing ATP’s.· Embedded software testing of DSP designs using the Ethernet output port from the PCB’s. BAE Systems, Nashua, NH (Contract-Lighthouse Placement Services)………8/04 to 11/05 RF Test Technician - Troubleshoot, tune, and repair radar R/T assemblies, RF PCB’s.
- Re-write test procedures for RF Transmitter and Receiver products for the AN/ALQ-156 Anti-Missile defense system, now being used in Iraq.
Zoll Medical, Chelmsford, MA (Contract-Technical Needs North)…………....3/04 to 5/04 Test Technician - Obtained a 30% increase in throughput of failed charger boards diagnosis, with DC-DC converters, by using a multi-channel oscilloscope to locate failures instead of VOM’s that had been used.
Piconics, Tyngsboro, MA (Contract-Technical Needs North)…………..10/03 to 2/04 QA Engineer/Technician - Designed fixture to do QA testing of power resistors without removing them from chamber, saving 15% of the total test time needed to complete the testing.
RAYTHEON ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS, Tewksbury, MA…………………….…4/97 - 8/02 Senior Engineer· Created interface adapters to Upgrade Early Warning Radar Up/Down converter hardware modules using VME interface from National Instruments to create automatic parametric and regression testing of radar modules, saving 34 hours of test time per unit.· Used LABVIEW to control MMIC’s (Monolithic Millmetre – wave Integreted Circuits) in UUT to create RF gain profiles (Digital Interface).· Convinced management to use UNIX Korn shell scripts for multiple target simulation of the Patriot missile radar system in order that testing could proceed to meet project goals while the LabView graphics interface was developed. Our team stayed on time and in budget.· Wrote Performance test specifications and algorithms for testing of RF Hybrid Modules using Visual BASIC 5, as well as designing the interface fixtures through GPIB to HP rack and stack Network Analyzers, and Spectrum Analyzers which enabled automatic factory testing of RF Hybrids, saving an average of 6 hours test time per unit. Modified units to Design for Test (DFT).· Facilitated presentations for engineering management, using Power Point, showing just how the interface design and planned testing would verify the design performance specification (DVT) of the analog mixed signal boards. The requirements were met by using commercial, off the shelf, test equipment and parts (VXI & VME). Also required DFT. NORTHROP GRUMMAN CORPORATION, Chesapeake, VA……………………2/85 - 4/97 Cognizant Senior Test Engineer· Designed digital and analog interface circuits between radar boxes and test station. Designed low noise A to D converter for DSP quatuature testing of radar I and Q channel DAC by using a gated Sample & Hold circuit to reduce noise, saving $155,000 in development costs.· Wrote and validated TPS for mixed signal analog aircraft displays, both PILOT and RIO, used on the F14, in ATLAS code. (WRA’s)· Saved about $50,000 in programming costs by inventing CROSS COMPILER between ASSEMBLY (Embedded 8051 software) programs and ATLAS code. This gave ATLAS the ability to test embedded microprocessor controller (8051) PC Cards using Assembly language programming. This enabled ATE testing of controller PC boards, saving about 16 hours of test time per board.· Wrote, developed test strategy, and validated programs to test PC Card assemblies on US Navy C.A.S.S. Set up Design for Testing (DFT). ATE using both Teradyne LASAR simulations and Teradyne L200 code in ATLAS. These TPS (Test Program Sets) included cards with ASICs and FPGAs which were modeled in the LASAR digital simulator. This facilitated US Navy shipboard testing of these PC boards at a 95% Fault Detection rate. Other Highlights ATE Test Engineer · Programmed Gen Rad 1795 Functional ATG Test Systems for SRAs used in aircraft simulators with Hall Effect probing. Supervised all ATG programming efforts, which facilitated factory testing of PC boards used in aircraft simulators.· Established new markets for ATE products and brought in new ATE business for company.· Small signal interface design. Designed Test Target generator design for ECM testing.· Printed Circuit Board testing and programming on Gen Rad and Fluke ATE to make possible factory testing of PC boards used in ECM equipment.Sonar Engineer· Preamp and analog audio frequency small signal front-end design. · Sonar system integration and shipboard installation on both surface and sub-surface Navy ships.Manufacturing Engineer · Manufacturing and process modification for new product throughput.· New product development.· Created first ATE for life cycle testing of existing products which saved months of labor costs over the old manual method of recording accelerated life cycle failures.
